I am interested in interdisciplinary, international approaches to the philosophy of mental illness throughout history. I currently focus on South Asia, specifically Sanskrit texts, but minored in psychology and plan to do interdisciplinary doctoral research with the Asian Studies department and Philosophy department.

RESEARCH BIO: Laura completed her undergraduate degree in UBC's South Asian Language and Culture program in May 2020. Her thesis concept in grad school
is instances of yoga in Sanskrit kavya poetry, with the long-term goal of doctoral interdisciplinary, intercultural research on the philosophy of mental illness. Yoga was a method that was used in South and South East Asia for managing symptoms of mental illness, and finding how it was used in
literature may shed light on the public perception of the practice's usefulness.
