Anthropology

Given my background and interest in cartography,  I would be interested in and could contribute to explorations of mapping used to articulate statist narratives and also used subversively to counter imperial assertions.

Maya Daurio is a PhD student in Anthropology. She previously worked in in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and is interested in the anthropological, ecological, and humanitarian applications of GIS. Her research focuses on using cartography to articulate how hybrid spaces of belonging and identity are mediated by language in Nepal.
